အသစ်ထွက်ရှိလာမဲ့ Ubuntu 18.04 မှာ ဘာ features အသစ်တွေပါဝင်လာမလဲ?
April လထဲမှာ ubuntu ရဲ့ LTS version တစ်ခုဖြစ်တဲ့ Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic Beaver ဟာ ထွက်ရှိလာတော့မှာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

ထွက်ရှိမဲ့ version တွေနဲ့ date တွေကိုသိပြီဆိုတော့ အသစ်ပါရှိလာမဲ့ features လေးတွေကိုတစ်ချက်ကြည့်ရအောင်။
New features in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
1.Native support for color emojis
Ubuntu 18.04 မှာဆိုရင်တော့ color emoji ကို native support အနေနဲ့ defaultပါဝင်လာတော့မှာပါ။ အဲ့တော့ မေးစရာရှိတာကအရင်ကရော emoji တွေ့ရနေတာပဲ။ အထူးအဆန်းဖြစ်သွားလို့လားဆိုတာပါပဲ။ အရင်က emoji တွေရတာဟုတ်ပါတယ်။ color emoji font ကိုinstall လုပ်ထားရင်
chrome တို့ mozilla တို့မှာမြင်ရပေမဲ့ ကျန်တဲ့ GTK app တွေမှာမမြင်ရခဲ့ပါဘူး။အခုဆိုရင် default အနေနဲ့ပါဝင်လာတော့မှာဆိုတော့
အကုန်လုံးမှာ အဆင်ပြေပြေအသုံးပြုလို့ရမယ်ထင်ပါတယ်။
2.GNOME 3.28
Unity က ယခင်ထွက်ရှိခဲ့တဲ့ 17.10 ကနေစပြီးတော့ default desktop environment နေရာကပျောက်ကွယ်သွားပြီး Unity နေရာမှာ GNOME ကအစားဝင်လာခဲ့ပါတယ်။ Ubuntu 18.04 မှာလည်း GNOME(version 3.28) ကိုပဲဆက်လက်အသုံးပြုသွားမှာပါ။
3.Boot speed boost
Canonical ဟာ ubuntu ရဲ့ boot speed ကို ပိုမြန်လာအောင်လုပ်ပေးမယ်လို့ပြောထားပါတယ်။ အမှန်တကယ်ဟုတ်မဟုတ်ကတော့ စောင့်ကြည့်ရမှာပါပဲ။
4.A new minimal installation option
18.04 ကိုစ install လုပ်မယ်ဆိုရင် `minimal installation´ ဆိုတဲ့ option အသစ်ကိုတွေ့မမြင်ရမှာပါ။သူပြောထားတဲ့ပုံအရဆိုရင်တော့
Browser နဲ့ utilities တွေနဲ့ minimal desktop environment ကိုပဲ install လုပ်သွားမယ့်ပုံပါပဲ။
5.New default applications
မနှစ်တုန်းက Ubuntu ဟာ အသစ်ထွက်ရှိမဲ့ version မှာ ဘယ် application တွေကို default ပါဝင်စေချင်သလဲဆိုတာကို survey ကောက်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ အဲ့လို survey ကောက်ပြီး နှစ်ပတ်၊ သုံးပတ်အကြာမှာတော့ top voted list ကိုကြေညာခဲ့ပါတယ်။

Canonical က category တိုင်းမှာတော့ top voted အတိုင်းထည့်ပေးလိမ့်မယ်လို့ကျနော်တော့မထင်ဘူးဗျ။ ဘာလို့လဲဆိုတော့ VLC ဆိုတာ video player အတွက်ဆိုကောင်းပေမဲ့ အဲ့ဒါကို music player အနေနဲ့တော့ ကျနော့်အမြင်အရ prefer မလုပ်ချင်ပါဘူး။
6.Using PPA is slightly easier now
အရင်ကဆို ppa channel ကနေ install လုပ်မယ်ဆိုရင် Command သုံးကြောင်းအသုံးပြုရတာကိုသိရှိပြီးသားဖြစ်မှာပါ။
ပထမဆုံး new repository ကို add ရမယ်။ ပြီးရင် update ,ပြီးမှ application ကို install လုပ်ခဲ့ရတာပါ။ 18.04 မှာတော့ မတူတော့ပါဘူး။ အရင်လိုမဟုတ်တော့ပဲ repository addတဲ့ add-apt-repository ကို run လိုက်တာနဲ့ update ပါတစ်ခါတည်းလုပ်ပြီးသားဖြစ်သွားမှာပါ။apt-get update ကို သပ်သပ် ထပ် run ပေးစရာမလိုတော့ပါဘူး။ cool, isn’t it?
7.Linux Kernel 4.15 (tentatively)
အရင်ကတော့ kernel 4.14 LTS နဲ့ထုတ်ဖို့လုပ်ထားပေမဲ့ နောက်မှာတော့ Kernel version 14.5 ကို 18.04 အတွက်အသုံးပြုဖို့လုပ်နေတယ်လို့လည်းသိရတယ်ဗျ။
8.Xorg becomes the default display server again
17.10 မှာ ယခင်သုံးနေတဲ့ display server ကို xorg ကနေ Wayland ကိုပြောင်းသုံးခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ဒါပေမဲ့ application တော်တော်များများက wayland မှာ ကောင်းကောင်းအလုပ်မလုပ်ကြတာကိုမြင်ခဲ့ကြရမှာပါ။ အခုထွက်လာမဲ့ 18.04 မှာတော့ xorg ကိုပြ default အနေနဲ့ ပြန်လည်အသုံးပြုထားနယ်လို့သိရပါတယ်။
9.Ubuntu will be collecting system usage data (unless you choose to stop that)
Data collection အကြောင်းသေးစိတ်ကိုတော့ အောက်က link မှာ အပြည့်အစုံဖတ်ကြည့်လို့ရပာတယ်။
10.New installer for Ubuntu 18.04 Server edition
Server အတွက်ကို installer အသစ်နဲ့အတူထွက်ရှိမယ်လို့လည်းသိရတယ်။ပုံကြည့်ရတာတော့ လှသလိုလိုပာပဲ။
ဒီလို features အသစ်တွေကိုစိတ်ဝင်တစားစောင့်ကြည့်ရမှာကတော့ကျနော်တို့ user တွေရဲ့တာဝန်ပါ။
